Dee Freeman (Sensum Ltd) specialises in working with primary, secondary and special schools and academies, PRUs, Local Authorities, and independent school groups on a range of school improvement activities; self-evaluation, primary and secondary curriculum development, strategies for improving learning and teaching, building effective leadership and management at all levels, and providing strategic and operational advice on developing Inclusion and SEN provision.


Current work includes supporting schools and academies in:

  • The new SEND system (Children and Families Bill and Code of Practice 2014)
  • Whole school self-evaluation:  lesson observations, analysing pupil progress, joint work sampling, monitoring the curriculum and gathering the views of stakeholders
  • Reviews of teaching and learning
  • The SEN Health Check: reviewing and developing effective SEN provision
  • The role of middle and senior leaders in developing an inclusive school
  • Deploying and managing support staff; roles, responsibilities, professional competencies
  • Support for governing bodies on their roles and responsibilities regarding SEND
  • Capturing and developing the pupil voice
  • Engaging parents in their child's learning


Work with the University of Northampton on National Senco Award training is
now in it’s seventh  successful year.
